
Windows and Window Frames
Approximately
15 hours of instruction can be completed over three months. Passing of one exam
is required to receive an
electronic certificate of completion.
Understanding
window terminology and specifications is important
for the
proper selection and maintenance of window units. This
module provides an
overview of common window types, their operation, construction,
materials,
and issues regarding manufacture, distribution, and installation.
Windows,
window units, and window frames are covered. Students
learn the terms used
to describe windows, the parts of windows, how windows
are constructed,
and their application, storage, and selection criteria.
These
shorter modules include sections from the Millwork
Home Study Course.
Designed for those who want to focus on a subset of
the material or who
find it difficult to commit to several months of study
for the complete
Millwork course.
While
3 months are provided, each of the Millwork Series
modules can easily
be completed within 10 to 15 hours of study-at a
two day seminar or within
just one weekend! Each module comes complete with
a soft cover book
containing one or two chapters from the Millwork
Principles and Practices
textbook, a lesson study guide, and a CD.The CD contains
an introductory
video clip, interactive presentations, a glossary
for the lesson,crossword puzzle,
and a computer graded practice quiz. An online exam
is provided to receive a
certificate of completion.
